Psalm 41:9

The missionaries will say Psalm 41:9 is a prophecy that the Messiah will be (or in their view, was) betrayed by a friend. They will point to Matt 26:23, Luke 22:21, and John 13:18-19 in the New Testament to show where Jesus was betrayed by a friend.

The Reply is: This Psalm begins with "A psalm of David". Most likely it, therefore, refers to David. It could also refer to anyone who is suffering... This Psalm does not point exclusively to Jesus. The sufferer is also referring to being in a sick bed (verse 4). Jesus was never mentioned as being in a sick bed. Additionally, though David was (yes, the Psalm is in past tense, not future) betrayed by an ally, he knows that G-d will not let his enemy triumph. Judas was portrayed as being quite a successful betrayer in the New Testament.
